Data and Interview Retention in CAS Shield
Key Principle
Information is carried over only if it has already been completed or submitted.
This applies to:
-
New offers
-
Deferred offers
-
Different intakes
All scenarios behave the same way.
What Gets Carried Over
Usually Carried Over
-
Personal details (e.g. name, nationality, history)
-
Academic and English documents
-
Pre-CAS questionnaire (if completed)
-
Interview recording and outcome (if done)
Not Carried Over
-
Contact details (e.g. address)
-
Passport details
-
-
Financial information and documents
-
Statements (e.g. SOP, CV)
-
Consent sections
Financial documents are not carried over because they expire and must be resubmitted.
How Interviews Work
-
If an interview is already completed, both the recording and result are carried over
-
If no interview exists, nothing is carried over
Students will not automatically receive a new interview invite if one already exists
Common Scenarios
1. Student already completed an interview
-
Result is carried over (pass or fail)
-
No new invite is sent automatically
Universities can manually invite the student again if needed
2. Student did not complete an interview
-
Nothing is carried over
-
A new interview may be triggered
3. Student is deferred to a new intake
-
Same behavior as any new offer
-
Completed data and interviews are carried over
Deferrals are not treated differently
4. Pre-CAS questionnaire
-
Completed once → carried over
-
No need to redo it
-
