How to use custom tags (Spreadsheet View)
Custom tags can be created by university users with administration access.
Step by step instructions on how to use custom tags
Custom tags can be created by university users with administration access. These tags can then be edited and deleted as needed, and can be applied to individual or multiple student records from the spreadsheet view.
How to create custom tags
- From the spreadsheet view in CAS Shield, go to Config > Custom Tags > Add Tag

- In the text boxes, type in the required Tag Name and Description (the text that will appear when the tag is hovered over). Click Save.

The new custom tag will then appear in the Custom Tags list. After a short processing time, the new tag will also appear as an option to filter by tag.
How to add custom tags to a single student record
- Select the student you would like to apply a tag to using the check box on the left of the student's name.

- Click "Edit tags"

- You can now add the desired tag(s). If you have a long list, use the search field to find your tag. Select the tag and click "Apply" in the bottom right corner of the panel

How to add a custom tag to multiple records
- Select multiple records which you wish to apply the same tag to. Click Edit tags.

- From the dropdown list choose the tag(s) you wish to apply to these selected student records. You can choose more than one. Click Apply.

- The tag(s) you chose will then appear in the spreadsheet view under each of the selected student records.

How to remove a custom tag
- You can remove any custom tags that the student may have on the spreadsheet view. To do this individually, click on the 'X' that is next to the tag.

- If you need to remove tags from multiple records, click "Edit tags" and deselect the tag applied. Click Apply to finish.
It will show a full tick if all student records have the tag applied (example 1 below).
If not all records have that tag, it will show a dash (example 2 below). Deselecting the dash will still remove the tag from all records that have it assigned.


Tag visibility in filters
Once a tag is created, it will appear in Filters → Tags after a short processing time.
When a tag is deleted, it is automatically removed from all records and filters.
